Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using a screen reader, keyboard navigation, magnification, or reduced-motion settings.

We publish this statement voluntarily. AIHub Switzerland is a non-profit association running an information site, which we understand falls outside the European Accessibility Act — it reaches consumer services such as e-commerce, banking, and transport — and outside the Swiss Disability Discrimination Act (BehiG), which binds federal and cantonal bodies rather than private associations.

We did not think that was a good reason to stay silent. Whether a law reaches us has no bearing on whether someone can read the material.

We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA as a working standard.

We are stating a target, not a certification. The site has not been audited by an independent accessibility assessor, and we have not carried out formal testing with assistive technology users. Until it has, we will not claim conformance, and you should not rely on this page as evidence that we meet the standard.

• Pages are built from semantic HTML — real headings, lists, and landmarks — so a screen reader can navigate the structure rather than a wall of undifferentiated text.

• Interactive elements are native buttons and links, reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline.

• Collapsible sections, including the artefact templates, use the browser's own disclosure element. Their content is present in the page whether or not JavaScript runs, so it is available to assistive technology and remains printable.

• Colour is not the only way meaning is conveyed: status and emphasis carry text or an icon as well as a colour.

• Light and dark themes are both maintained, and the site follows your system preference by default.

• Animation is written behind a reduced-motion preference, so movement stops if you have asked your operating system to reduce it.

• Images that carry meaning have alternative text, and decorative icons are hidden from assistive technology rather than read aloud as noise.

Being specific here is more useful than a reassurance:

• **No independent audit.** Everything on this page is our own assessment, and self-assessment is exactly the method that misses things.

• **No testing with assistive technology users.** We have tested with tooling, which is not the same as testing with people.

• **Dense data tables.** The comparison and compliance pages carry wide tables that are demanding to navigate with a screen reader and awkward on a small screen, even where the markup is correct.

• **Contrast.** Some muted secondary text is set at a low contrast that we believe passes at normal size but is close to the limit, and we have not verified every combination across both themes.

• **Charts and diagrams.** Some visual material does not yet have a text equivalent that conveys the same information.

• **PDF certificates.** Generated certificates are not tagged for accessibility. The same information is available as text on the verification page.

We would rather list these than let you discover them.

If something on this site blocks you, please tell us at info@aihubswiss.org. Describe the page and what happened — including the browser and assistive technology you use, if you are comfortable sharing it.

We will acknowledge within five working days and tell you what we can do and when. If we cannot fix something quickly, we will offer you the content another way: as plain text, or by answering your question directly.

This is not a formal complaints procedure and we are not subject to an accessibility enforcement body. We treat these reports as bugs, which is what they are.

We will update it as we fix what is listed above, and we will not remove an item from that list until it is actually fixed.
