Manus

Manus, built by Butterfly Effect, makes a general-purpose autonomous AI agent. Meta agreed to acquire it for about $2B in December 2025, but on 27 April 2026 China's National Development and Reform Commission ordered the deal withdrawn. Manus announced in August 2026 that it would operate independently again, and in October 2026 it closed a round of more than $500M co-led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital.
