About World Labs
World Labs is a spatial intelligence AI company founded by Stanford professor Fei-Fei Li (the 'godmother of AI' who created ImageNet). The company builds Large World Models (LWMs) that understand and generate interactive, physically grounded 3D worlds from a single image or text prompt. World Labs targets applications in gaming, film, robotics, design, and virtual environments.
Company History
Founded 2024 by Fei-Fei Li (Stanford professor, ImageNet creator) with co-founders Justin Johnson, Christoph Lassner, and Ben Mildenhall (co-inventor of NeRF). Emerged from stealth Sep 2024 having raised $230M from a16z, NEA, and Radical Ventures at a $1B+ valuation. Coined the term 'spatial intelligence' as its mission.
