IBM was positioned highest and furthest right in the Leaders quadrant of the inaugural Gartner Magic Quadrant for AI Governance Platforms, published 16 June 2026, which assessed thirteen vendors. Its watsonx portfolio spans model building, governance and agent orchestration, and it has open-sourced its Granite model family under Apache 2.0.
