About Prime Intellect
Prime Intellect is a decentralized AI compute and training platform building toward open, distributed artificial intelligence. It aggregates GPU compute from many providers and pioneers globally distributed model training, having produced INTELLECT-1 and INTELLECT-2 — some of the largest models ever trained across geographically separated hardware. Its mission is to make frontier-scale training accessible outside centralized data centers.
Company History
Founded 2024 by Vincent Weisser and Johannes Hagemann to democratize AI development through decentralized compute and training. In late 2024 it trained INTELLECT-1, a 10B-parameter model, across globally distributed hardware, followed by INTELLECT-2, a 32B reinforcement-learning model trained on a permissionless distributed network. The company raised a $15M round (2025) led by Founders Fund to expand its compute marketplace and open distributed-training stack.
